As I said in one of my posts, most of my ventures were happened spontaneously, nonetheless this is one of those that turned out great.
It’s as if I just woke up one morning with my friends riding a 4x4 jeep heading to a place I have never been to ~ then I realized, I am having a Mt. Pinatubo adventure!
Where the adventure begins..
an hour of a bumpy and dusty trip
passing through sand fields and rocky rivers
jump-off point where our death march begins
with my trek-buddies ( from left: mels, jhan, resty & julius )
wrong info: plus 30mins sa totoong buhay
numerous sand formations
crossing a sulfuric river
a portion of lava canal
with our tour guide
endless rocky trail
the course is getting narrower
stiffer
and thirstier
" watch your steps "
one of the many signs posted along the trail
P60 soda in can ~ not bad for the very exhausted & thirsty trekkers
yahoo! we finally made it!
feeling great & relieve to finally see the crater lake!
tanggal ang pagod !!!
majestic indeed
Who would have thought that after its massive eruption, Mt. Pinatubo would turn out to be what it is now.
this crater lake is about 2 kilometers wide
and 600-800 meters deep ~ the reason why we didn't swim
With all the thirsts, the bumps, the blisters and even the expensive soda I still claim it as one of my successful quick tour. Thank you Mt. Pinatubo for sharing with us your magnificent crater and thank you friends for being such awesome trek-buddies.
